Richard has been recognized for his teaching with induction into the Wayne State Academy of Teachers in Augustand being awarded the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching in April He is the first faculty member from the Mathematics Department to earn WSU's two highest teaching awards. Two of those students made it into Calculus 1. He provided training, rubric and asment de to all instructors in support of the General Education Oversight Committee's GEOC assessment of universal learning outcomes.
During those four years of full time work, he created a series of operations manuals, ificantly improved the efficiency of the program, and mentored many students both in the program and here at Wayne State.
Panelist for Engaging in a Mental Health Discussions faculty panel discussion held on November 6, and January 20, as part of the follow-up to the Mental Health day. He met with my mentee monthly to discuss classes, professional opportunities, a 5 year plan for success, and aspects of his job that are important his mentee wished to be a lecturer.

Richard Pineau has been active at Wayne State University since coming here for his undergraduate work in mathematics and secondary education in the fall of His journey into education did not really take hold until he participated in the Wayne State University Math Corps Summer Camp in the summer of In the subsequent years, he worked each summer as a college instructor, learning how to work with and manage students, but more importantly how to care about them and their success.
As a faculty representative, Richard provides input in the de considerations for classrooms and space in the renovation project for State Hall. This Camp took 6 incoming freshmen whose majors are in STEM-related fields and over the course of 4 weeks, covered content related to Algebra with Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and some Statistics. He is currently pursuing a Ph. In the fall ofRichard transitioned into a faculty role as a lecturer in the Mathematics Department. The focus was on accessible course de.
